Re-Vision
Don't rewrite my history because it is not polite conversation
Struggle
Lower middle-class
Honesty
Hard-working
Some of us had aluminum siding
Swearing as an art form
Stoops are for sitting and seeing who goes by
Or waiting for you ride so your mother can see who your friends are
Does she know their parents
What does the father do for a living
Are they Italian
If so where are their people from
If you want to know history after the
Fine tightly pulled art ladies get through with their version
To the beauty parlors on Saturday morning and listen
Go to the diners and if the waitresses sniff you out to be
OK
Then ask your questions
But if you have a brain in your head
Don't fuck with the locals
We are a mean lot if we feel we you act like your
Shit don't stink
This is historic preservation
